What it usually costs
$14,750–$25,500
Typical architectural-asphalt replacement on a Connecticut single-family home in 2026. The inspection locks the number — decking, pitch, and access can move it.
What the job includes
Owens Corning Preferred.
We install TruDefinition Duration as our standard architectural shingle. Metal and cedar composite are available when they fit the house. Preferred Protection is a lifetime shingle warranty on a home you own — ten years of it non-prorated — plus ten years of Owens Corning workmanship and twenty-five years of ours. We'll go over both warranties before you sign. A single “lifetime labor” number from another contractor is usually mixing those up.
Repair when it makes sense. Replace when it doesn't.
The inspection covers age, ventilation, flashing, decking, and structure. If a repair will safely extend the life of the roof, that's what we quote. If replacement is the better long-term cost, we say so — in a written estimate after we've been on the roof, not from a photo.
Adding solar? Do the roof first, or on the same visit.
If the shingles have less than about fifteen years left and solar is coming, one trip is cheaper than two. We install the roof and the array on the same schedule so you're not coordinating a second crew.

Ice dams in Connecticut: what actually fixes them
Ice dams start in a warm attic, not in a small gutter. Ventilation, insulation, and ice-and-water shield — what Helio GC looks at before selling more metal.

How long asphalt shingles last in New England
Architectural shingles on a ventilated Connecticut roof typically run 22–30 years. Three-tabs fail sooner. Sun, ice dams, and a cold attic are what shorten the clock.
