Owens Corning Preferred Protection covers replacing defective shingles for as long as you own the house — labor, materials, tear-off, and disposal, on the terms in the contract.

Workmanship coverage by Owens Corning for defects in the installation of the roofing system. That's the manufacturer standing behind the crew, not just the shingle.

Twenty-five years from us.
Helio GC workmanship on that same system. The longer coverage is ours. Full terms are in the contract; we go over them rather than bury them.

Algae and wind.
Ten-year StreakGuard algae resistance and fifteen-year blow-off coverage on the systems that carry them. We tell you which shingle you're actually buying.
What it covers — and what it doesn't.
Preferred Protection is an Owens Corning program. Helio has been vetted and certified to offer it. On a home you own, that is a lifetime shingle warranty — labor, materials, tear-off, and disposal for defective shingles — ten years of it non-prorated, plus ten years of Owens Corning workmanship and twenty-five years of Helio GC workmanship.
A single “lifetime labor” number from another contractor is usually mixing those up. The lifetime coverage is the shingle. The workmanship coverage is the install. Full terms and exclusions live in the contract; we go over them rather than bury them.
StreakGuard algae resistance (10 years) and blow-off coverage (15 years) sit on the systems that carry them. Gutters, siding, windows, and interiors carry their own manufacturer and workmanship terms, written on the same proposal.
