A rooftop array is a 25-year piece of equipment sitting on a roof that may have eight years left. Pulling modules, racking, and flashings off so you can tear off shingles is how a solar job becomes two jobs. If the shingles are tired, we replace them first — or we do the roof and the array on the same schedule.
Helio GC is the contractor for both. One crew has already been in the attic. Flashings and penetrations are the same company. You are not coordinating a solar installer who has never seen the deck.
What we look at before we size panels
Age of the shingles, ventilation, remaining life, electrical service, shade, and how you actually use power in winter. Incentives sit next to the cash number so you can compare. They are not a reason to skip the inspection.
